# TXGreenPass

> Independent guide to the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP): how Texans qualify for a low-THC medical cannabis prescription by telehealth, what HB 46 (effective 2025-09-01) changed, and comparisons of online evaluation services.

Key facts: Texas issues no patient cards. Physicians enter prescriptions into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT). Chronic pain lasting more than 90 days qualifies since HB 46. Products are capped at 10 mg THC per single dose and 1 gram of total THC per package; the per-dose cap is not a limit on product potency (licensed half-gram vape cartridges run 85-90% THC, roughly 425-450 mg total). Smokable flower is prohibited. Telemedicine evaluations are legal statewide; licensed dispensaries deliver to all Texas addresses. A patient's prescribing physician can enter a caregiver on the CURT record, allowing that person to collect pickup orders or sign for deliveries on the patient's behalf; the statute's possession protection still runs to the patient (and, for patients under 18, the parent or legal guardian). Hemp-derived THC is gone: Texas banned smokable hemp at retail 2026-03-31, placed delta-8/delta-10/THCP/THCA on state Schedule I on 2026-07-31, and the federal hemp THC ban now runs on two dates after H.R. 6500 was signed 2026-09-02: cannabinoids that cannot be naturally produced by the plant lose hemp status 2026-11-12, while the total-THC standard and the 0.4 mg per-container cap that close the hemp delta-9 edible and beverage loophole were pushed to 2026-12-11.
